Do you know who pays for our GPS service?
The GPS service used throughout the world is actually paid by the American taxpayers. According to GPS.gov, all GPS program funding are provided by general U.S. tax revenues. The Defence Department will control the budget of this program as they has the main responsibility for the development, acquirement, operation and modernization of the GPS. Hence, this GPS service costs $2 million dollars every day even though it is free to use globally.
